Im due for an upgrade, which phone is best for me?

I have AT&T and right now I have a Motorola Sliver (which is horrible by the way). I get my upgrade this month and I need a new phone. I mainly text, so a phone with some sort of keyboard is a must. I really don't care about internet or having a tv on my phone or anything like that, but I do want a modern up-to-date phone. Any suggestions? And prefferably a phone that doesn't require a $30 data plan or something rediculous that I'm not even going to use. Thanks.
