Why don't Republicans want to take responsibility for our current economic challenges?

I haven't noticed the Republicans taking responsibility for much of anything lately, have you? This is just another in a long list. When even Greenspan himself has acknowledged that he screwed up, you'd think some of the sheeple could admit it, too.
